Apple Rum Dum Cake

Apple Rum Dum Cake

Some people are into Pumpkin some are Into apple! I love apple season!


1 cup sugar (I used the stevia alternative)

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

2 cups apples, peeled and chopped

1 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup light butter

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, mix 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and an egg. Stir I chopped apples.

3. In separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in pecans.

4. Combine both mixtures together. Then pour into a 9 inch cake pan.

5. Bake for 45-50 minutes.

Sauce Instructions:

  1. Combine 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream into sauce pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

  2. Stir until sauce is a consistent color.

  3. Pour sauce over top of cake.


I cut my cake into 12 slices. The nutrition information is for 1 slice.

Carbs: 13.5 grams

This cake is delicious on it's own but would probably taste amazing with cinnamon or vanilla ice cream!
