It's comfort food season and what better way to indulge in it than some chili!
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb ground pork
2 (16 oz.) cans of kidney beans, drained
1 (8 oz.) can of tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can of tomato paste
2 medium onions, chopped
2 green bell peppers, chopped
1/2 cup of sliced jalapenos
1/4 cup of sliced black olives
1 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne
1/4 teaspoon of paprika
2 cups water
Instructions:
1. Brown ground beef and ground pork in a skillet. Drain.
2. Combine ground beef and pork, tomato sauce, tomato paste, kidney beans, onions, green peppers, jalapenos, black olives, chili powder, garlic salt, cayenne, paprika, and water. in slow cooker, mix well.
3. Cook on high for 3 hours, and then 3-4 hours on low, until desired consistency.
4. Enjoy!
5. Optional: Serve with fat free plain Greek yogurt, fat free shredded cheese, and cornbread.
